1. Planning (Sep 1st)

Iain: I was given your name by a friend in regard to the publishing of my book, 'Wally the Hairy Nosed Wombat'. The book is at the publishing stage, complete with illustrations and I am now investigating costs. I wrote this children's story as I am keen to see 'Aussie kids' have their own Christmas stories instead of those of the Northern hemisphere.

The Publishing Queen: Your book sounds great. Thanks for sending those images through – they look great too! I also liked the storyboarding as it shows me what you want to achieve. The book sounds very exciting and I would love to work with you on it if you decide you would like to work with me. I will call you later to answer any more questions you may have.

2. Starting Job (Oct 18th)

The Publishing Queen: All your illustrations arrived today and have been scanned and we are beginning your book design. We still need a copy of the text however.

Iain: I sent you the story by email.

The Publishing Queen: I have everything I need now so we can get a start of the design first thing tomorrow.

3.  Finishing Job (Nov 22nd)

The Publishing Queen: Just writing to let you know your book has finished printing and is currently travelling to Australia and should clear through customs by the end of the 1st week of Dec. Did you want us to send the books straight to you or would you like information on our warehouse facilities?

Iain: Thanks for the update. I would prefer the books to come straight to me as I am committed to a couple of promotional days starting the 8th December. Hopefully they'll make it by then?

4.  Distribution (Jan 12th)

The Publishing Queen: How are the book sales going?

Iain: The book sales have been excellent; we will most likely finish up with less than a hundred to be held over till next Christmas (included in the sales are about 50 give-a-ways or promotions etc.) I have had a number of enquiries about the 'next book'!
