It is important when you edit a book that you think about the following:
Self Editing
* Make sure you are not the only person who proof reads your book
* Make sure you go through your book multiple times
* Make sure you don't edit your book too many times
External Editing
* It is important to have your book edited by an external editor who is distant from your project
* It is important to have multiple external editors look at your book
* It is important that you proof read your book yourself after each external edit
In summary the best way to edit your book is:
1. Complete writing before you begin editing otherwise the writing and editing processes are both slowed down if either of these steps is completed out of order
2. Edit it Yourself
3. Give to Editor to edit
4. Edit it Yourself
5. Give to Proof Reader to edit
6. Edit it Yourself
7. Sign off on your completely edited book before passing the manuscript onto your designer otherwise the editing and deisgn processes are both slowed down if either of these steps is completed out of order
