The Publishing Queen
|
Most people tend to think if their book isn't a children's book then it doesn't need illustrations. This couldn't be further from the truth. Every book needs illustrations to break the text up to make reading enjoyable rather than a chore for the reader. There is nothing more boring than a page of plain text.
But if my books isn't traditionally illustrated what makes up the illustration components?
Some suggestions to break your text up include:
1. Photographs/Illustrations
2. Charts/Diagrams
3. Pull Quotes/Checklists
4. Creative Headings/Sub Headings
Whatever it is make sure you have all your elements collected together before you begin designing your book otherwise the illustration and deisgn processes are both slowed down if either of these steps is completed out of order.
For more information on how to do this, check out 'How to Publish a Book for Pleasure, Profit or Publicity' THE SEMINAR or 'How to Publish a Book for Pleasure, Profit or Publicity' THE BOOK.
